These are my photos for the shadow assignment. I took pictures around the school of different object's and people's shadows. I edited the photos so that those shadows were more defined, i tried to bring out the shapes they showed.
These are my photos for the portrait assignment. I tried to capture the subject's personalities in these photos, I did this by having them not look at the camera in some shots. I used a blank white, brick wall and the studio for the backgrounds in these photos
This week I decided to do the nature option for my photo album. I took pictures on a dreary day but i edited the photos so that the green were vibrant and the blues in the sky to pop also. I took some pictures of some very small plants in order to bring out the details them and some pictures of trees.
This is my portrait demo photo. I learned how to position lights within a studio and also using sunlight to get the best shots. I then placed the images into Gimp and edited them to be presented in this fashion.
This week I attempted light painting for my assignment. I used the studio and a closet for my dark rooms. I set the shutter speed to 4 seconds for some pictures and 15 seconds for others. I tried drawing interesting patterns and shapes, also I outlined someone.
These are my photos for architecture. I tried to take pictures from different angles to help bring out the lines and shadows in the structures. The school had a lot of interesting shapes and angles that could be captured.
This is my final edited photo for the Gimp 2 assignment. We learned how to take out lights using the clone tool, which allows you to take a section and duplicate it over another section in order to blend them together. After that we learned how to crop out the back ground using the free select tool.
I choose macro for this week as you can see. I took some household items and a carcass of a bug I had found during the summer to be my subjects. I set up my night lamp in my room with a piece of white paper underneath it and placed the subjects in the light to help bring out there details. I tried to get the pictures as clear as I could so the details of the subjects popped out.
During this exercise I learned how to take pictures to show motion. We did this by adjusting our shutter speed to 1/100 due to the light outside, then we prefocused on the object we wanted to capture (Mr. Bush) an then panned with him as he rode by us. This gave our image a focused focal point (Mr. Bush) and a blurred background.
This is a group of black and white photos. I tried to emphasize the contrast between black and white with the use of lighting. I edited the photos to further this look in the photos as much as I could. The photos do not have a theme to them besides the emphasis on lighting, i wanted to explore different options.
From this assignment I learned how to use the software in the computer program Gimp. I learned how to crop and edit photos. I also learned how to use the colorify tool to change the colors of my photos. The main idea of this assignment was to help us explore this computer program which is used to edit photos, and I think it was successful in doing so.
